I moved to Washington, DC in 2010 and have called it home ever since. During that time, I’ve seen the city change so much–mostly for the better. I want to give back to the single member district 5E06 that I’ve called home since 2021 and will continue to call home for many years to come.
My motivation boils down to wanting to create, shape, and improve our neighborhood, community, and city for the better. I want to make it a place where my two sons and all the community members are safe, can afford to live and thrive, and have access to the city services they need and pay taxes for.
As commissioner, my main focus will be on safer streets. Our single-member distract is bordered by dangerous, large roads including North Capitol Street, Michigan Avenue, Lincoln Road, and Franklin Street. I’ll work with DDOT, other commissioners, and Councilmember Zach Parker’s office to support traffic calming measures and improve safety at intersections–particularly the intersections of Michigan Avenue and North Capitol Street and Lincoln Road and Franklin Street.
I will support small businesses and the opening of third spaces. These much needed amenities are key to strengthening community, making our neighborhood a pleasant place to live, and bring jobs.
I will support the development of housing. We need to ensure that anyone who wants to live in DC can afford to do so through increasing housing supply via a mixture of market-rate and affordable developments.
